Comments I went on this trip to see Minke Whales and potato cod. I was not disappointed. Since I was traveling from the US, I opted for the seven night trip, more chances to see whales. Heavy seas, five to six foot swells with whitecaps, kept me from snorkeling on our first encounter. A day or two later, the seas calmed to three to four foot swells and I jumped in. Two heavy ropes with knots and floats made it easy to hang on with one hand and watch the action below. The whales came very close, arms length. These whales are small, fifteen to twenty feet, but to have them so close was great. I felt like a child, wishing to see just one, then wishing to see another and then another. I saw at least a dozen.

Cod Hole offered lots of surge, but it was doable. The cod were about three to four feet and came closer than the whales. Once I was regulator to lip with one potato cod.

The crew was very helpful. The diving was done from the back of the boat. I'm 74 and have a bad back, so I did a seated entry and one of the crew carried my BC down the stairs for me. I was also able to hand up my weight pockets and take off my BC in the water. Tanks are filled in place after every dive, always 3000 psi.

This is a great boat, and I'm so happy I went.
