Comments This is my eleventh consecutive year diving with this operator. See my Dec 2017 and earlier reports for more details. I dive this time of year (May) every year but one, and the water temp is usually in the low 80s, but these two weeks it was about 76-77, so a 5mm full wetsuit kept me comfortable. Visibility was only about 50 ft first few days as it had been more windy than usual for the week before, stirring up sand. The sites on the northwest coast (wrecks Antilla and Pedernales) had the best diving, with lots of schools of snappers, surgeons, and other larger fish off the Antilla and many juvenile fish and eels near the Pedernales. One day doing the surface interval off the Antilla, I was surrounded by THOUSANDs of brown chromis and other smaller fish; I just stayed there until the DM finally banged on her tank because I was the last one in the water. Aruba doesn't have the reputation of nearby Bonaire, but the topside resorts, restaurants, beaches and activities will keep your non-diving traveling companions happy. The price is right, too; I did 18 dives for about $35/per tank with my own gear.
