Comments We heard a lot about currents and with well planned dives they were insignificant. We were at the end of the season, rains coming in April, so we were the only dive boat around. Jambo is a sailing vessel and occomodations were fine when the AC worked, which was not often, most slept on deck which was delightful. Jambo's owner, a retired German who looks like Sean Connery, lives on the boat which is more awkward than being on a managed liveaboard. But our group chartered the entire boat and we got along just fine. The reefs are not protected in any way and they are overfished. Not many big fish. But it was truly delightful to be the only boat in the waters with a great crew, beautiful weather an ample food. It was not 5 star diving but neither are places in the Great Barier Reef. Locals sold us fresh fish and we did some walking on small islands. This is not great diving but waking up on deck with a gentle breeze and surrounded by beautiful water and islands without another boat in sight is tough to complain about. I'd go again in a minute. We combined our trip with a safari to Serengetti and Ngorogoro crater as well as a side trip to Zanzibar. Booked with www.matembezi.co.tz and Dorobo safari at www.marilynmason.com/dorobo.html Absolutly a fantastic trip, well planned and executed by our tour operators, and I can't say enough about the Tanzanians - a wonderful gentle people. Tanzania is a the must visit place in Africa.

UW Photo Comments We had only one photographer on board and he was given all the help he wanted, but the boat really was not set up special for photographers. It there had been two or three on board,it would have been awkward.
