Eubranchus sp. by Daniela De Angeles Allee des Baobabs, southwest mainland Madagascar Sargassum Froggy !!! by Daniela D Halgerda wasinensis, Africa only, I believe Sifakas allow pretty close approach; Tsingy area, central west Madagascar mainland

Comments This is one of the more difficult reviews I’ve written. If you choose to go with Double Deep, you will dive with one or both of the owners every dive. On the one hand, they are among the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. For example, Daniela, whose brilliant images of nudibranchs drew me to Madagascar, will share her photos for free (!!!). For the first four days, I was the only customer and not only did they go out with just one diver, it was pretty much all about me in terms of schedule and dive site/animal requests. And on the other hand, they do some strange and possibly dangerous stuff. On the strange side, they chose a large, generally comfortable power boat with NO LADDER, so you have to do the old RIB kick and flop after every dive. Mind you the deck is only about 6 inches above the surface but it still gets old. They cannot use mooring buoys, stating that locals would steal the components so all the dive sites are found by GPS. Enforced diving restrictions The owners initially wanted to keep me above 20 meters as I have only OW cert, but relaxed after a while and pressure from other customers to go to deeper sites.
