The Micra ADJ

While I was testing the MAS, Jim The Micra ADJ Clymer of USD loaned me a prototype of the new Micra ADJ, a second stage with an external adjustment knob for cracking pressure. The knurled knob permits a diver to retune the second stage on every dive. This can compensate for variations in intermediate pressure as well as second-stage seat wear, and makes it possible to dial out minor free flow or reduce initial inhalation resistance so that the regulator is ready to pump air at the slightest urging.

In a remote location far from a technican who can retune a regulator on the spot, I'd pay extra for the feature. If you're considering buying a Micra, I recommend choosing the Micra ADJ, as it lists for only $18 more than the nonadjustable Micra ($498 vs. $480) with the SEA first stage.
